Fall in love with your home again: the power of decluttering.

Fall in love with your home again: the power of decluttering.

Is your home feeling cluttered and overwhelming? Do you wish you had more space and less stress? If so, it’s time to consider the power of decluttering. I’ve even made up a word for it, I call it declutterZing and it’s official definition is: a renewed sense of enthusiasm and liveliness felt towards your space once the weight of unwanted, unused and unloved items have been removed.

By letting go of items you no longer need, want, or use, you can create a more functional living environment that works for you.

One of the most common things I hear when helping people purge in preparation for a move is that they wish they would have done it sooner.

Decluttering not only opens up physical space, it also lightens the load on our minds. With less clutter, you can rest easier and find inspiration in your home once again. By thinking of your possessions as inventory items that you choose to store, care for, and manage, you can begin to see the value in reducing that inventory.

Letting go of items you no longer need or use can free up space for new ideas, habits, or hobbies.

What got you thinking about decluttering? Do you need to clear the extra room for upcoming visitors, are you losing paperwork, want to make room for a new hobby, need to access your yard tools or simply want to have and see less? Whatever the reason, start by identifying your goals and then work systematically through your home, room by room. As you go, be mindful of what you really need and what you can let go of.

Donate, sell, or recycle items that no longer serve you, and don’t be afraid to be ruthless in your editing process. What’s the worst that could happen? Sure, maybe you’ll need to purchase one item again in the future but hat’s better than storing hundreds of items you aren’t using.

Decluttering can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. Consider working with a professional organizer to help you streamline the process and achieve your goals.

Virtual organizing is a viable option with numerous benefits. You receive the same personalized support and guidance as working with a professional organizer in person (to help you create the functional living environment you deserve) without anyone physically entering your home, it’s all done remotely.
